OUR DISCIPLINE POLICY

The College Discipline Policy is totally centred on the belief that the dignity of each individual is paramount. To remain consistent with this philosophy our behavior management operates on the premise of 'Choices and Consequences'. We advocate that students need to have sufficient flexibility to choose a behavior but they also need to understand the consequences of their choices.

CONCEQUENCES OF POSITIVE BEHAVIOR

Referral slips to Carer acknowledging positive behavior

Notes of commendation in school diary

Verbal acknowledgments

Presentation of Certificates at assemblies

Promotion to positions of responsibility

CONCEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR

Typical Offences
   Disrupting others in class
   Failing to follow instructions
   Inappropriate language
   Incorrect wearing of uniform
   Failure to complete homework/classwork
   Inattentive behavior
   Littering

In the case of failing to respond to a reprimand in class and additional strategies e.g. rearranging seating placements, the teacher will have a student removed from the class
Under these conditions the student will work in isolation until a letter is written by the student as a request for re-entry to the class is accepted.

If misdemeanors continue after counseling is given, a lunchtime detention will be imposed.

Should three After School detentions be amassed, then a Saturday detention will be imposed.

During the process of attempting to modify a students' behavior constant contact is maintained with the students parents.
